Gig for the Foodbank

Our own Rebecca who deals with Fundraising and Partnerships stated that now

75% of people coming to the Foodbank are those who are on benefits (universal credit) and with a low-income.

In our first quarter this year we also saw a 20% increase in Foodbank useage compared to last year.

On Wednesday 15th August, Rainbow Collective organised a FREE gig for Southwark Foodbank in a call to raise emergency food donations to aid in the dramatic increase of clients this summer. The gig, hosted at the DIY Space for London saw a plethora of talented vocalists, poets and grime rappers performing to support the cause.

Performers included: Oracy Chambers, Iviee Mercutio, Conrad Kira, Potent Whisper, Sashan Flanders and Yung Remz.

The event was a great success, with the table at the end of the evening full of food, toiletries and essential supplies. We are more than grateful for every guest and artist who came to support us.
