Together provides a range of community, life skills and employability activities in a relaxed environment supporting people learn new skills, understand their rights, and make new social circles. Everyone’s welcome!
Activities include free café, cultural trips, creative writing classes, crafts and support to fill in online forms. We signpost onto other Pecan services and partner organisations to ensure all needs are met.
Café and Warm Space
Opening Times: Mondays and Thursday from 10am-3pm (closed on Bank Holidays)
Venue: Pecan, 121a Peckham High Street SE15 5SE
Together Café, 1-3pm Monday and Tuesdays: Enjoy warm soup and a bread roll, hot drinks, and snacks. Join in with arts and crafts, board games and group discussions and pick a book or magazine to read.
We offer a range of activities, support, and advice: employment, life skills, hobbies, wellbeing, and community.

Bold Tendencies | Echoes of Baldwin, Writing Corner Creative writing inspired by the work of James Baldwin, led by Bold Tendencies Creative Learning Facilitator, Alfiah Brown.
Bold Tendencies Collage Workshop Inspired by the theme of reclaiming narratives participants delve into the past, present, and future creating a personal and group collage using a combination of paper, photographs, and textural elements.
Adinkra Arts Collective Creative Writing: Led by Kunga founder | Adinkra Arts Collective. Around the theme of ‘Reclaiming Narratives’. An informal and interactive writing workshop explores taking you on a journey of reclaiming your story.
Book Group, Owning the Narrative Led by Kunga founder | Adinkra Arts Collective. Homage to acclaimed Caribbean writers from the past. A reflection on the collective works of Black voices. Reading extracts from The Lonely Londoner by Samuel Selvon, Six Stories and an Essay by Andrea Levy, and Propa Propaganda by Benjamin Zephaniah.

Creative Writing with Wordsmiths: During this 6 week Writing for Wellbeing group facilitated by Naomi at Wordsmiths, you will be guided through structured writing activities and games to enable you to create and share a mixture of fictional and true stories based on your own experiences and ideas.
Bread and Salt
Autumn Term: Bread and Salt re-starts Fridays from 13 September – 18 October
A FREE drop-in on Fridays (term-time) at Pecan Together Cafe 9.30am-12noon. Particularly welcoming asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa. Some members of the team speak Arabic and Kurmanji Kurdish. We emphasise friendship and a safe space to relax, with opportunities for English conversation, games and crafts. (This is not an advice session or a formal English class).
