We hope you are all keeping warm during these cold November days, and are beginning to make plans for the festive season. In this newsletter we are excited to share about Co-op’s membership fund and the launch of Pecan’s Christmas campaign ‘Give a Gift of Hope.’

Give a Gift of Hope – Christmas 2023 | Press Release
Southwark Foodbank and Pecan Christmas Campaign: Southwark Foodbank and Pecan are launching their 2023 Christmas Campaign Give a Gift of Hope.
Last year, our Christmas campaign saw more than 100 families in Southwark supported over the Christmas period and we will continue in 2023 to offer festive gifts and treats, as well as vouchers to buy food over the Christmas period. It was a tremendous success, with a very positive response.
Big Give: Women & Girls Press Release
Pecan Women’s Service are part of the ‘Big Give: Women & Girls match funding campaign. From 12pm (midday) 11 October to 12pm (midday) 18 October, every pound you donate will double the difference for charities, paving the way for a brighter future for the women and girls. If we can raise £5,000 during this week then we will receive £10,000.’

Welcome to all our lovely readers, we hope as it turns to Autumn you are enjoying the crisp morning, crunchy, colourful leaves, and getting cosy in jumpers! This time of year can be full of joy and we hope Pecan will bring even more with our packed schedule of events for Black History Month, as well as even more going on in our Together Space.
Peckham Pantry September
This month we focus on Peckham Pantry’s delivery providers: City Harvest, Tropical Sun and Felix Project. The two Peckham Pantry sites handle an average of 2,100kg of free food per week, supplied through four deliveries from the Felix project and two deliveries from City Harvest.
Guarantee Our Essentials Press Release
Pecan and Southwark Foodbank are supporting the Guarantee our Essentials campaign calling for the UK government to reform Universal Credit to ensure that everyone can afford the essentials we all need to get by – and help end the need for food banks.
