Big Give: Women & Girls | 11-18 October 2023
Pecan Women’s Service are part of the ‘Big Give: Women & Girls match funding campaign. From 12pm (midday) 11 October to 12pm (midday) 18 October, every pound you donate will double the difference for charities, paving the way for a brighter future for the women and girls. If we can raise £5,000 during this week then we will receive £10,000.’
Pecans Women’s Service are raising funds to keep our women only safe space open, providing trauma-informed, holistic support, advocacy and friendship for women facing multiple disadvantages in our community. Plus, empowering those who have had contact with the criminal justice system to rebuild their lives.

What we can do when we reach our target of £10,000 after match funding:
- £2,000 – discretionary fund for women to access i.e for travel cards, interview clothes, essentials
- £1,000 – self-care and craft materials
- £4,000 – 10 monthly hub lunches providing a free hot meal on the last Thursday of every month for approx. 50 women
- £3,000 – 2 larger celebration events (summer and winter)
