Welcome to our New CEO, Peter Edwards

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new CEO, Peter Edwards.

Peter has volunteer and board experience with charities in London, Leeds and York which support people who are homeless or who have needed a foodbank. He has also served as chief executive of a credit union and as an aide to a senior politician in Westminster.

“I am looking forward to working with Pecan’s dedicated staff and volunteers, meeting clients and strengthening our relationships with partner churches and organisations.”

Peter said: “Over 35 years Pecan has played a significant role in supporting Londoners facing challenges such as poverty, unemployment or loneliness as well as providing vital support for women affected by the criminal justice system. All this work is more important than ever due to the increases in the cost of living, immense resource pressure on local government and the erosion of some elements of the safety net for people experiencing hardship.

I am looking forward to working with Pecan’s dedicated staff and volunteers, meeting clients and strengthening our relationships with partner churches and organisations. I also hope to draw on my experience in the voluntary and poverty alleviation sectors as Pecan continues its development.”
