Together at Pecan brings together a range of services previously delivered by Pecan into a new Community Hub that aims to create a one-stop-shop for our community.
You will find a warm place to sit, café sessions, coffee mornings, arts and crafts, advice, support, health and wellbeing activities, employment and life-skills support, workshops, and information. You will also find a variety of community and social activities, as well as signposting and information about what is happening in the borough.
We are looking for volunteers to support with the running of Together by nurturing a sense of loving community and a culture of welcome for everyone who comes through our doors, and helping to create a safe space whilst giving back to your community, developing your existing skills, learning new skills and increasing your circle of friends.
Main Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors and work with other members of the café team to provide the best service for guests
- Support guests to engage with activities and with the group
- Engage in creating an open, transparent, communicative, and supportive environment for guests, volunteers, and staff, through participating and getting involved in all aspects of running Together
- Leading/creating fun activities such as crafting or games, based on your own likes and skills
We want to hear from you if you:
- Are 18 or older
- Are friendly, with a positive attitude towards mental health, a team player, with the ability to problem solve and show initiative
- Understand the importance of supporting people in the community
- Are calm, reliable and have a flexible attitude
