Celebrating with Co-op and Your Local Pantry

‘Everyone should be able to eat good food. That’s why Co-op has teamed up with Your Local Pantry to help people enjoy big meals on smaller budgets.’
– Co-op, November 2022

Peckham Pantry was part of the Co-op and Your Local Pantry community day which highlighted why we need pantries, the importance of good affordable food and choice.

Peckham Pantry staff, ambassadors and members worked exceptionally hard to make sure the day went well. They took time out to share with the media how our Pantry works and why they are proud to be part of a food service that gives people choice, affordability and dignity. All which fits into Pecan’s ethos of Kindness, Belief and Hope.

Big Zuu joined the party

Across from Peckham Pantry is Leyton Square Park where there was live cooking and activities  for everyone. Even in the rain the fun continued. A big highlight was Big Zuu live cooking and simultaneously chatting and making the audience laugh – all while he prepared a delicious greens and cheese pasta dish.  Follow Big Zuu’s Instagram for the latest updates, recipes and blogs.

We are Two Years Old

At the end of October Peckham Pantry, Peckham Park Road shop, turned two years-old, and the following week we held a birthday party in the shop. Members were able to have a hot or cold drink, delicious snacks and conversation before they shopped. The social area was very popular, so now tea and coffee is available at the Pantry.

Join Our New Peckham Pantry Steering Group

We’re excited to set up a new Peckham Pantry Steering Group. All members who want to be more involved with the pantry are welcome to join.

Would you like to have a say in how the pantry delivers its service and help us make decisions? Are you keen to share your ideas about how we approach the community element of our pantry? Then please come and join the steering group!

To join or for any questions, please speak to us at the pantry, or contact Pecan’s Community Engagement Officer Flora on 07929 999 006.
