Peckham Pantry - 'Providing access to good food'
As the summer holiday begins Pecan just wanted to highlight one of our food services, the Peckham Pantry, that may be helpful for families during the summer.
The additional time spent at home over the next six weeks will highlight the monetary impact that the cost-of-living crisis is having on families and individuals. The Pantry’s aim is to reduce shopping bills, provide relevant advice and support and create opportunities for members to be more active in their community.
The Peckham Pantry provides access to good, affordable and healthy food. It is a membership scheme that will make your money go further, and shopping at the Pantry is a fantastic way to supplement a weekly shop. Members pay £4.50 per shop, and this gives them access to fresh fruit and vegetables and a variety of staple food items to the value of £15 or more.
Peckham Pantry Manager Temi Okudiya, said:
“We have a great loyalty scheme that allows members to get a FREE shop – after 8 shops at the Pantry they get the 9th shop FREE, but do not forget to bring your membership card. Please remember, stamps are not redeemable or transferable, so it is important to bring your membership card on every visit.”
Head of Food Services at Pecan Sharon Hunt, said:
“Please be aware the Healthy Start Scheme is currently phasing out the paper voucher and replacing it with a card. This card will be automatically topped up every 4 weeks with your payment and the card can also be used to shop at the Pantry.”
