Pecan is a community charity based in Peckham, transforming lives through Kindness, Belief and Hope. Our projects currently involve community engagement, women’s advocacy, employment support and food security, some of which provide empowering one-to-one support, coaching, and community activities for people facing multiple barriers including; unemployment, isolation, experiences with the criminal justice system, benefit changes and low income.

The Board of Directors, referred to as Trustees
, are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing Pecan’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory requirements.

To “restore futures and see an end to poverty in all its forms”. We aim to achieve this through equipping people in our community to believe in their potential; through mobilising and working with local churches; and through working with other to challenge inequality, injustice, and discrimination.

We are looking to recruit up to four trustees that are committed Christians, care about the needs of people in Southwark and have skills in strategic decision-making. We would love to hear from you, whether or not you have previous experience as a Trustee, so if this sounds like you, why not consider joining our Board!

If you are shortlisted, there will be an informal evening meeting with two Trustees via Zoom by this date.

Start Date: Tuesday 6th December 2022 (06/12/2022)
If successful, you will become a Trustee with full voting powers at the Board meeting on this date.
